Awareness Creation for the protection of Shodoshima Iwatani Quarry

Abstract　 Preservation progress of a quarry is clarified.Why came to be recognized as a historic site from the place of production. By clarifying the historical understanding of the region, I examined the awareness creation for the protection. Originally, quarry produces raw materials. We can't think raw materials to be a cultural properties.So quarry is not subject to the protection and honoring. In Shodoshima Iwatani, keeper of the stone managed a stone wall stone of Osaka Castle.Meiji era, the Army kept the stone wall stone.Taisho era, nationalism was progress. By the influence of nationalism, quarry was affected by the history of Osaka Castle castle and the dispatch of troops to Korea by Hideyoshi TOYOTOMI. Quarry was transformed into historic sites.The relationship between local and Toyotomi Osaka castle was the pride of the region. Because local community has recognized the historic sites　 as the quarry, quarry came to be protected.
